Hackers actually has its own calculations when choosing a browser they used to launch attacks. There are some special considerations that accompany it.
Well, from many browsers scattered on internet, browser Firefox became the most favored by hackers.
In a study revealed that there were about 46 percent of hackers who use Firefox. While surprisingly, Opera poke in second place with 26 percent reach.
Of course, choosing Firefox as a 'weapon' of hackers is not without a cause. Especially by those who become the main actors of noise that occurs in cyberspace.
Rik Ferguson, senior security consultant Trend Micro said hackers are deliberately using a browser that does not common in market share or is not too large. This was to prevent their fellow victim of a hacker attack.
"They did not have an attitude like a compromise between the members," he quoted from Vnunet, Monday (24/8/2009).
Even so, Ferguson continued, does not mean that Firefox and Opera is more secure than Microsoft's browser, Internet Explorer or other browsers. "It's just that they have a smaller footprint and does not attract too much attention from malware spreaders," he said.

I just switched over to Firefox yesterday (got tired of the endless "error on page" w/ explorer...yes, I updated Java, stopped scripting, etc). Interesting article!
